From my workshop in a barn, up a track, near my home town of Great Torrington in North Devon, I produce about fifty items of monumental masonry every year: these range from gravestones (also for animals), memorial plaques, inscriptions and poems or house signs, to statues and relief carvings- figurative or decorative.

Most of the work is lettering carved by hand in local slate with hammer and chisel in the traditional way, unchanged from Roman times.

The work is undertaken by commission, mostly from personal recommendation.

Designs are evolved through consultation with customers and are drawn out free hand on paper, and when agreed are drawn freehand directly onto the stone- then carved.

All the monumental items are delivered and fixed throughout Great Britain.
